Generator
A gritty rock song with a poignant lyrical shower about
the roles and abuses of the media, and it's power to shape the american mind.
The song is played in common time and opens with Aaron warning the listener
about the real messages that are sent from the media. "you are not
beautiful, war is necessary, don't trust yourself." Serving as a backdrop to
his preacher style warning is wild free form jazz played by the band
consisting of Drums, Bass, electric guitar, keyboards. Soon the momentum
builds until we hear Aaron count out, 1 2 3 4! The band then comes crashing
into a strong rock riff pushing the song through verse and chorus and then
into a mesmerizing rock and roll guitar lead. Following the solo section the
song slips into a funkier mood with swirling keyboards and wah wah guitar
riffs. After one verse worth of change the song leaps back into it's rock gr
oove and ends with the chorus, "how did you find the only static in town?
Antennae up the trouble comes around. The truth is locked and caged up, is
there anyone left to save us, when the strong arm pushes forward like a
generator!" the song ends powerfully and abruptly.
