INTERVIEW

Quiet and Unseen

A highly original rock piece about finding hope and strength by turning to the inside. The song, played in 3/4 time, opens with a modern keyboard part with slight delay. As the keyboard swirls about for several bars an acoustic guitar enters and plays an unusual set of chords played in the key of E minor. At the begining of the first verse, the drums, bass, and elecric guitar join the other instruments creating a pleasurable and tasteful layer of articulate music. the chorus of the song sounds the theme as Aaron sings, "there is something inside of us giving us strength; there is something inside of us breaking the cage." After the second chorus the song builds and then the music tapers out, leaving several moments of emptiness. Suddenly the cymbals crash in queing the band to follow. The song takes a turn here as the band repeats a steady rock groove for several bars. While the band plays the notes in unison, an electric guitar wails emotionaly and furiously, bulleting through the spine of the music. As the guitar lead comes to a close we hear Aaron's voice repeat four times, "set your eyes upon the setting suns!" At the end of the fourth repeated phrase the music gracefully glides into the chorus and then into a shortened verse. The song ends with all instuments dropping out except for the keyboard, which play the opening line to a fade out.
